Marketing and Academic Services Department (MASD)

This scheme is open to local candidates enrolled (active status) in a Masters or Doctoral programme.

The fee reduction for the handicapped and senior citizens is only 50%, which is the teaching fee and the research fee.

APPLICATION CRITERIA

1.	This scheme is open to local postgraduate candidates enrolled in a Masters or Doctorate programme at Universiti Malaya (UM).
2.	Applicants must be Malaysian citizens. Permanent residents are not allowed to apply for this scheme.
3.	Applicants must have registered as a Universiti Malaya student.
4.	Applicants must not have any other scholarship / sponsorship when applying.
5.	Applicants must be free from any debt / outstanding fees with Universiti Malaya.
6.	Handicapped candidates - Applicants must be defined as disabled by the Department of Social Welfare.
7.	Senior citizens - Applicants must be 60 years old or over when the application is made.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

1. Applications must be submitted online via Maya Portal https://maya.um.edu.my > Finance > Scholarship. Applications submitted in hard copy format will not be accepted.

2. Applications must be made every academic session. Grant of fee reduction is not automatic.

3. Incomplete applications will automatically be rejected.

4. The online application must be submitted before 31 December 2024. Applications submitted after the closing date will not be entertained.
