Academic Administration and Services Department (AASD)

This scheme is open to local candidates enrolled (active status) in a Masters or Doctoral programme.

The fee reduction for the Disabilities and Senior Citizens is only 50%, which is the teaching fee and the research fee.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1.	This scheme is open to local postgraduate candidates with active status who are enrolled in Master's or Doctorate programmes at Universiti Malaya (UM).
2.	Applicants must be Malaysian citizens. Permanent residents are not eligible to apply.
3.	Applicants must be registered as UM students.
4.	Applicants must not be recipients of any other scholarship or sponsorship at the time of application.
5.	Applicants must not have any outstanding debts or unpaid fees with UM.
6.	Applicants with disabilities must be recognized as disabled by the Department of Social Welfare.
7.	Senior citizen applicants must be 60 years old or above at the time of application.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

1. Applications must be submitted online via the Maya Portal: https://maya.um.edu.my > Finance > Scholarship. Hard copy submissions will not be accepted.

2. Applications must be submitted for each academic session, and approval for fee reduction is not automatic.

3. Incomplete applications will be automatically rejected.

4. The online application must be submitted by 8 March 2026. Late applications will not be considered.
